The venue for LSRL will be the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, located at 405 North Mathews Avenue, Urbana. You can find this location in the UIUC campus map and in Google Maps.

Getting to Urbana-Champaign

The Champaign Willard Airport (CMI) offers daily flights through American and Northwest. AMTRAK service is also available.

From Willard airport, you can rent a car, hire a cab (see links at the bottom of this page), or use the local bus system to campus. There is a bus every hour, leaving from Willard at the hour and three minutes from the main exit from the (only one) terminal.

Champaign-Urbana is located on Interstates 72, 74, and 57; 135 miles south of Chicago, Illinois; 180 miles north of St. Louis Missouri; and 120 miles west of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Local bus system: Within Urbana-Champaign, there is a mass transit system, and the bus schedules are available at the MTD web page. Paper booklets are also available on the buses.

Parking

The closest parking structure to the Beckman Institute is on the corner of University Avenue and Goodwin Avenue (from Beckman, go east on University.) This is building B4 in this map.

Friday: parking is not free; use the metered parking spaces only in the B4 building.
Saturday and Sunday: parking is free everywhere in the B4 parking garage.

Metered parking places are available on the streets in the vicinity of the Beckman Institute. The time limit is variable, and parking is enforced.

Parking anywhere else is risky: you might be ticketed or towed.
